AICPA’s Practitioners Symposium Brings Back the Basics for Practitioner Success

(NEW YORK, April 14, 2008) – The­ American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) announces the annual Practitioners Symposium, which will feature 60 sessions with four in-depth tracks: accounting and auditing, tax, emerging issues and management of an accounting practice. Over 600 CPA professionals will gather on May 5-7, 2008, in Las Vegas’ Caesars Palace for the critical conference that covers the basics and advanced techniques of being a successful practitioner. Nationally known presenters will focus on practice management with feature discussions on risk assessment tools, estate planning, technology management, business valuation, succession planning and more.

Rebecca Ryan, named “Entrepreneur of the Year” by the U.S. Association for Small Business Entrepreneurship and founder of Next Generation Consulting, has been selected as keynote speaker. Her presentation, “Three Truths and a Lie About Next Generation Companies,” will address the benefits of running a company with a next-generation mentality by using tactics to improve employee engagement.

“The tools and strategies that are essential for running a successful company will be presented with insight into the latest technologies and best practical applications to help companies move forward,” said Rita Keller, conference chair.

This year’s conference also features a new networking lounge and the option to enroll a guest in the spouse and guest program.  During conference presentations, guests can participate in scheduled activities such as wine tasting and a tour to Hoover Dam, the second highest dam in the nation.
