This course keeps you current and shows you how to apply the most recent standards for audits of nonpublic and public entities.

The course will specifically discuss:

  • Overview of the current auditing environment, including economic trends, regulatory reforms and other issues to consider when providing assurance-related services in 2013-2014
  • Understand key changes resulting from the recent AICPA Auditing Standards Convergence and Clarity Project, up through the Omnibus SAS No. 127
  • Recognize key elements of recent PCAOB Auditing Standards, up through AS No. 16, Communications with Audit Committees
  • Developments related to compilation and review standards, including ARSC's Clarity Project and issues related to recent exposure drafts of new SSARs
  • Other Issues on the Horizon, including upcoming ASB standards, and COSO's recently updated Internal Control - Integrated Framework

Learning Objectives:

  • Apply recently issued AICPA Statements on Auditing Standards (SAS), Statements on Standards for Accounting and Review Services (SSARS), Statements on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) and PCAOB Auditing Standards to accounting and auditing problems
  • Review exposure drafts and other projects affecting audits of financial statements, as well as attestation, compilation and review engagements
