Previously, she was a financial adviser for a major wire house, having obtained her CFP® designation in 1986. More than 20 years ago, she began studying the Social Security system to unravel some of the mysteries of how benefits are calculated. In addition to speaking and consulting on Social Security planning, she writes articles on financial planning for an audience of some 20,000 financial advisers. She has written several books and many articles on Baby Boomer retirement and has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal.
