The PFS Case Study and Exam beta program offered in 2008 received very high reviews and we will be offering this option again in 2009.  The exam is a 200 question six hour comprehensive exam.  The case study is a comprehensive personal financial planning case study hosted by the financial planning department at Texas Tech University.  This study will test your knowledge and communication skills covering the real-life situations faced by planners.  It is offered in a relaxed environment that allows discussion and collaboration with your peers and feedback and evaluation of your proposals and by both instructors and peers.  This is truly an advanced education opportunity and will challenge you regardless of you experience.

The first day, the PFS Exam will be administered and the following three days are dedicated to the PFS Case Study.

Course Objectives include:

Apply academic and professional knowledge to the development of a comprehensive financial plan.

  • Integrate economic and client specific factors into a client plan
  • Demonstrate competence in application of financial planning topics to meet client goals
  • Present a comprehensive financial plan verbally
  • Demonstrate professional competence, individually and as a team member
