UPDATED THROUGH 2013 - This course is offered as a partnership with AICPA and The American College.  It uses the same material as The American College’s course HS 326, however, the format has been adapted to better meet the needs of CPAs.  (Please note that this course is not part of any matriculated designation or degree program offered by The American College.)

This course covers the basic concepts of Retirement Planning.  It is updated every 18-24 months to include reference to current laws; however, the basic concepts and principles do not change significantly from previous editions.

  • Focuses on selecting the right retirement plan for the business and on individual retirement planning.
  • Covers qualified plans, SEPs, SIMPLEs and 403(b) plans and nonqualified deferred compensation plans.
  • Emphasizes the practical knowledge needed for choosing the best retirement plan, especially for the small business, and designing a plan that will meet a client’s needs.
  • Covers individual retirement planning including IRAs and Roth IRAs, Social Security benefits, saving for retirement and planning for retirement plan distributions.
