PFS Exam Review Class
The AICPA PFP Division is introducing a new program for CPAs who want to: achieve the PFS credential; refresh their financial planning skills; learn more about financial planning; and add financial planning to their service offerings.
The two and a half days coursewill help CPAs understand the technical foundation of the Personal Financial Planning discipline and prepare you for the PFS Exam. Participants will receive a consolidated and intensive introduction to the principles and analytic techniques of personal financial planning. The engaging and informative review will cover all topics on the exam, including the personal financial planning process, your professional responsibilities, income tax, estate, retirement, investments and insurance planning.
The June classes will take place at the AICPA’s North Carolina main operations office in Durham. This state of the art facility provides an excellent venue for the program. Seating is limited. Discounts for early registration and scholarships are available. CFP® CE is also available for attendees.
Who Should Attend: CPAs preparing to take the PFS Exam; partners and staff who want to enhance their competencies; experienced CPAs who want an overview of PFP; CPAs who want to expand their PFP education and experience.
Instructor: The instructor for this financial planning training course is Tom Tillery, MA Ed; MSFS. Since 2001, Tom has written and provided instruction in the area of personal financial planning. He is unique in the industry being the only instructor that has taught Live Reviews for both the CPA/PFS and the CFP® examinations.
Prerequisite: The self-study PFS Exam Review Course (cpa2biz.com/PFSreview) serves as the recommended pre-work for attending this class. To get the most from this class, it is important for attendees to be knowledgeable about topics to be covered.
You can choose to attend the PFS Exam Review Class as a separate event, or bundle it with the AICPA Advanced Personal Financial Planning Conference being held on January 20-22, 2014 (save an additional $295 off the Conference, no additional discounts can be applied).
About the PFS Credential: The PFS Credential demonstrates unique expertise and added value to your clients. It is the only credential specific to CPAs, bringing together the expertise of the CPA and PFS in financial planning. This review class provides attendees with a solid foundation of technical knowledge and competency.
PFS Exam: The summer PFS exam window runs from June 17 through July 26 providing attendees sufficient time for a final review after this class. Register today for this exam period.
PFS Exam Sponsorship Reimbursement: This program is available to help offset some of the costs (up to $600) of the exam and exam preparation. It is available for PFP Section members who take a review option, sit for the exam, and anticipate applying within 6 months of passing the exam. Complete an application today.
