In the past year with the SEC’s issuance of its proposed IFRS Roadmap, the potential for adoption of IFRS by US companies has become more likely.  With more than 110 countries requiring or permitting IFRS or basing their standards on IFRS, a number of foreign registrants apply IFRS in their filings with the SEC.  So, what, if anything, should US companies be doing to prepare for adoption of IFRS?  Join this panel to discuss their views on:

  • Latest financial reporting matters affecting foreign registrants
  • Where the US is heading with the transition to IFRS
  • The appropriate level of effort on an IFRS project plan, given the complexity of managing toward convergence of standards while concurrently planning for conversion without regulatory uncertainty
  • What management and boards of directors are thinking in terms of preparedness in today’s economic environment when corporate priorities are cost savings and efficiency
