CPA practitioners are often called upon to quantify economic damages in commercial litigation matters. This session will address the role of the practitioner; the types of situations in which practitioners are called upon to assist; and theoretical issues and concepts, including damage-analysis techniques, approaches and methodologies, applicable professional standards and relevant legal principles. At the conclusion of the session, attendees will have a foundation on which to build an economic damages practice.

Christian Tregillis, CPA/ABV/CFF, CLP, is a managing director in the Century City and Los Angeles offices of LECG, where he leads the local damages and intellectual property practice and works on forensic accounting investigations. He serves on the AICPA’s Forensic and Litigation Services Committee and is chair of the AICPA’s Economic Damages Task Force.
