Auditing Update: A Review of Recent Activities (2012-2013 Edition)

This course keeps you current and shows you how to apply the most recent standards for audits of nonpublic and public entities.

The course will specifically discuss Auditing Areas as follows:

1. Overview of the current auditing environment, including issues to consider when providing assurance-related services in 2012-2013.
2. Convergence and the Clarity Project, overview of the changes
3. Developments related to Audit and Attestation Standards (SSAE 17), including pitfalls noted in peer review, and SSARS 20 plus interpretations
4. Other Issues on the Horizon, including upcoming ASB standards, and COSO’s exposure draft on new internal control framework

Objectives: 

• Apply recently issued AICPA Statements on Auditing Standards (SAS), Statements on Standards for Accounting and Review Services (SSARS), Statements on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) and PCAOB Auditing Standards to accounting and auditing problems

• Review exposure drafts and other projects
