ARSC 2009 Update

This course, based on the highly rated session from the AICPA Practitioners Symposium, offers an overview of recent activities of the Accounting and Review Services Committee (ARSC), including the current status of the Reliability Project. At the end of this audio course, you will be able to:

• Analyze the relationship between SSARSs and independence under the current compilation and review framework.
• Identify the recommendations of the Reliability Task Force.
• Explain the proposed reorganization of SSARSs and its rationale as a result of the recodification project.
• Identify situations when SSARSs do not apply.
• List an accountant’s responsibilities with respect to compiled financial statements.
• Identify appropriate factors to determine whether an accountant has prepared a financial statement.
