Understanding FASB's Accounting Standards Codification

On July 1st, 2009, Financial Accounting Standards Board officially launched the Accounting Standards Codification as the single source of authoritative nongovernmental U.S. GAAP.  The Codification is effective for interim and annual periods ending after September 15, 2009.  The implications of this change in the literature are significant to both preparers and practitioners.
