Statement of Position No. 98-4 defers for one year the application of several passages in SOP 97-2 (Software Revenue Recognition), which limit what is considered vendor-specific objective evidence of the fair value of the various elements in a multiple element arrangement. This SOP applies to all multiple-element software arrangements that provide licenses for multiple software deliverables such as software products, upgrades/enhancements, post-contract customer support, or services.
