Economic Damages/Business: Financial Forensic Accounting Series

Forensic CPA Practitioners are often called upon to quantify economic damages in commercial litigation matters. This course will address the role of the practitioner; the type of situations in which practitioners are called upon to assist; and theoretical issues and concepts, including damage-analysis techniques, approaches, and methodologies, applicable professional standards and relevant legal principles.

This course will discuss:

• Know what constitutes lost profits
• Learn the difference in damage calculations between ill–gotten gains and lost profit damages
• Understand the terms unjust enrichment, restitution, damages, restitution damages, disgorgement, false claim and Qui Tam
• Learn the steps necessary to conduct a lost profits engagement
