CPA2Biz was formed in 2000, by the AICPA's management team and governing board in partnership with a core group of strategic investors—AON, Microsoft and Thomson. In January 2001, the company officially opened its doors with a two-part charter of (1) developing an online CPA channel and providing best-in-class marketing and technology services to the AICPA and (2) developing client-focused tools and business solutions programs that enable CPAs in public practice at small- and mid-sized firms to build stronger relationships with their small business clients.
